I did it....

I made it through the day with out eating junk. I am so proud of myself. I even went to the donut shop with my family, watched the football game and did this all enjoying the people around me, with out enjoying the food.

I kept water with me the entire time and took an apple to the donut shop. This worked out and I was able to stay strong. Yea Me!

So far so good....can I make it

I know that Jason is going to wake up in a few hours and we are going to take the boys to go and get donuts at Banburry Cross, were they have the most amazing donuts. They taste like a little piece of warm sweet goodness. Everything about them is perfect. So, what is a girl to do who was in tears last night about how she is spinning out of control on the weight war. I have decided that I will go and be with my family, food is such a big part of our lives, and I will enjoy listening to the conversations of my children, talk with my husband, find the joy in being with the people instead of the joy of eating with the people that I love.
I eat a good breakfast and I will keep my water with me at all time today. I have to get off the sugar high and it is today that it begins. Today I will find a new joy of being around food, the joy of the people. Wish me luck.

Why did I do this to myself?

So I just came home from a weekend of fine food and friends. I hop on the scale to see were it lies and i am suddenly stricken  with sadness and a pit of yuck in my stomach. It is not that this one weekend of pie eating fun made me feel this way, it is the long months that have passed by with me thinking that ever day I am going to start tomorrow. So what do i do I shovel in all of the food that I can to make myself feel better. Better, no it does not make me feel better. Tonight I feel the worst about myself that I have in a very long time. i feel like I cant even control my weight, am I that out of control in my life? I know that things have been a little hectic, and I have been skipping out on workouts, lets be honest I have been skipping out on weeks of workouts. with Work, school and wanting to stay in bed because it is cold I have really struggled. Not to mention that I can't seem to stay on top of anything these days.

So now that I have shared the problem, that i am at the heaviest that I have ever been and that I am now out of a healthy BMI for my size I need to find the solution.

1) I will work out for one hour everyday. I will make this a priority
2) I will ask myself "if I can eat that" before I put anything in my mouth. I will treat myself like I am a little kid and the parent at the same time. I know what I should and should not eat.
3) I will stop beating myself up for "messing up" I will continue to strive each moment to do better and stop waiting for tomorrow. That never comes.
4) I will document what I eat
5) I will always eat something good after I eat a not so great item.
6) I will remember that my health is important for my kids and me.

BUT DO I HAVE TOO

Yes Jaci, you do need to workout. Remember....
1) You have a bad heart
2) You have already had many TIA's
3) You are a ticking time bomb waiting to have a massive stroke- according to ER Doctor Know-it-all trying to scare me into taking better care of myself
4) You feel much sexier when you do
5) You are a mentally better person when you do (AKA: I don't yell at the kids)
6) You eat better
7) You feel better all round
8)  You can keep up with your kids
9) You go to bed on time
10) You start the day out with purpose
11) You  look younger
12) You don't have to wear spanks with everything
13) You can eat a treat and not feel it on your butt the next day
14) You can run the marathon you want to run
15) You have family history of obesity

OK, so I think I know what I need to do....go to bed early, wake up and drag my butt out of my warm bed and WORK OUT!

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT EATING......

Don't even think about eating ......that candy (that the great pumpkin(me) confiscated from the boys), the cupcakes (that look so yummy), the Hagermans Cookies (that have the best frosting in the world). DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!

Ok, so it is ok to have a yummy treat for the day, but not to sit around and snack on it all day like you are a starved prisoner or war who was just released into a bakery/candy shop.

So what to do...Pack up the kids and take them on a hike up the canyon. We even took Bruno. He was in heaven, but the car is now looking like a mud wrestling contest took place in it. Wow...How do three little boys and a dog attract soooo much mud.

Well there you have it I have warned myself. Maybe I can trick myself into thinking that it is all poisoned.

IronGirls 2010

Best Girls weekend EVER!!! So me and my fabulous friends went to Las Vegas and did the IronGirl Triathlon, and then we spent the rest of the time laying by the pool and shopping.

My Sister,Mom and Madi hit Tony and Tina's wedding while we were there and it was so funny. So I have to give a shout out to all my Girls who finished strong.

November 7

November 7 Markes the first day of training for Rock and Roll Arizona Marathon. I am going to do the half and I want to finish in 1 hour and 50 min. I am for the second time, working on my nutrition. If doing IronMan tought me one thing (ok so it tought me a lot) is that nutrition is so important. I hope to drop some pounds/ body fat before the race. I am using my bodybugg and tracking EVERYTHING that I put into my pie hole. Yes today was EXTRA hard, it is Halloween. So I will not beat myself up, but I can't treat everyday like it is a holiday. Todays workout was a 4mile run at a 9min mile on the treadmill. I felt so much better after this run. I was on one today with Jason (poor guy). It is amazing to me what a run can do. It is like the song "if you chance to meet a frown do not let it stay......RUN and turn it upside down and smile the day away" Ok, so I added a word.

Feeling Ready...

I love this point in training when you start putting in the long hours and you start to realize that you are going to make it through the race. I just hope that my cute Bruno makes it through all my training. The silly dog dose not know when to call it quits, I run and then come back to drop him off so I can finish out my mileage, but no he will not have any bit of that he has to go and he pushes himself and he pushes me. I'm getting exited for Ironman. Last year during this same month I found out that I had white mass on my brain and later on found out that I had a heart that was not fully functioning. Next month will mark the one year anniversary of my heart surgery and with in the month I will be pushing myself to limits that I never have. I guess this is my way of saying "take that" Ironman here I come.

JUST DO IT!!!

In my friend Mindys newsletter her quote of the week was Just do it. with the Olympics around it is such an inspiration to my workouts. Yesterday there was a skier who stated that he gets up every morning to work hard because he knows that his brother with CP can not. I think of the body that I have been blessed with and think why would I ever have a day that I would not put my whole heart into everything that I do. So my motto this week DO IT...

Rock and Roll Arizona

So the last Vincent Crew adventure was out in sunny Arizona. The boys ran the kids run (yes they were so sick, but did there best). Jason, Vanisha, Madi and I all ran the half marathon. Preston was the only crazy man who took on the full. We had fun, but it was way to short. Drive in Run and Drive out. I was exited with my 2hour time and Jason ran his best half yet.

Rock and Roll in 2:00:46

Rock and roll was great for me this year. I made my goal of being in right at the 2 hour mark. I am trying to stay healthy through the winter and I am finding that I am getting everything the kids come home with. This is becoming a challenge with my workout schedule. I am still looking forward to ironman, but know that it is time to tighten everything up. It is GO TIME BABY!!! Wow I am so exited.
